The world is becoming smaller with technology and borders are becoming closer together, since with the click of a mouse we can buy flights or train tickets that will allow us to travel to other cultures and environments. The same can be said about education, as year after year universities around the world improve their internationalization actions. The paper is based on a post-doctoral research and draws on the impact generated by teachers from the Federal Network of Professional Scientific and Technological Education who took part in the Finnish train the trainers program in Finland, which took place over one month in August 2017, with 20 Brazilian teachers from Federal Institutes. The analysis is based on data collected from an online self assessment survey carried out between December 2022 and February 2023, and explores the perceptions, motivations and results that the program has brought to the professional and personal lives of the participants and to society. Expectations and experiences are brought to light with demographic data and other information. The results reveal that shortterm mobility programs: result in impactful agency within their participants; consolidate professional learning communities; and recast its participants, as global citizens, into educational influencers. Notwithstanding, it is still necessary to deepen studies in this area, therefore a framework to refine future research into the impacts of teacher training programs is proposed hereby.
