EDITORIAL POLICY
Preprints
The Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas, in accordance with the Open Science movement, supports the submission of articles as preprints and accepts manuscripts previously deposited in reliable repositories.
A preprint is defined as a manuscript ready for submission to a journal that is deposited in reliable servers, before or in parallel to submission to a journal. A reliable preprint server must have a transparent moderation policy, offer DOI to submitted preprints, allow changes, comments, and community evaluation with endorsement from researchers, and ensure interoperability with other services and platforms. Only submissions of works previously deposited in public server platforms that meet these reliability and transparency characteristics will be accepted.
In the case of acceptance and publication of the article in the Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas, authors must update the record in the preprint server, providing the complete reference of the publication in the journal.
Peer Review Process
The Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas has specific policies for the evaluation and selection of manuscripts:
- Works that have been submitted to other journals, presented at previous events (national or international), or translated into other languages are not accepted, in order to preserve the originality of the work.
- To ensure thematic and authorship diversity, the publication of more than one article by the same author or co-author in the same issue of the journal is not allowed. Thus, the submission of a new manuscript will only be considered when there is no other text authored or co-authored by them in process, approved, or in the editing process for publication. Exceptional situations may be analyzed by the editorial team, especially in the case of thematic dossiers.
- The initial evaluation is conducted by the Editors, considering originality, relevance, academic quality, and significance to the field of Education, in accordance with the focus and scope of the journal.
- After the initial approval, the manuscripts will be forwarded to the ad hoc reviewers selected by the Editors. Each manuscript will be sent to two reviewers of recognized competence in the addressed theme. In case of disagreement, a third reviewer is appointed.
- Authors may suggest three potential reviewers for the manuscript along with their respective emails and the institutions to which they are affiliated. Optionally, they may indicate three reviewers to whom they would prefer the work not to be sent.
- The journal operates a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of the authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
- The reviewers' opinions may be approval, resubmission, or rejection. In any of these cases, the author will be notified.
- The opinions are analyzed by the Associate Editors, who propose to the Editor-in-Chief whether to approve the manuscript or not. The final decision regarding the article's opinion (Approved or Rejected) rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
- The similarity analysis occurs in the second stage of the evaluation process, after the first ad hoc
- Manuscripts that are rejected but have the potential for reformulation may be resubmitted as new works, undergoing a new evaluation process.
- Works with suggestions for changes must be corrected by the authors within 30 days.
- Approved manuscripts may be returned to the authors for approval of changes during the editing and normalization process, according to the journal's style.

Ethics Policy and Misconduct, Errata and Retraction
Cases of scientific misconduct identified by the Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas will be investigated by the editorial team, along with the Editorial Board, to determine the best option for resolving them.
Requests for Erratum or Retraction will be evaluated and handled by the editorial team.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Conflicts of interest may be personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial in nature and may occur when authors, reviewers, or editors have interests that could influence the preparation or evaluation of manuscripts. By submitting the manuscript, authors are responsible for acknowledging and disclosing any financial or other conflicts that may have influenced the work. If there is, even potentially, a conflict of interest, the author(s) must inform it in a separate signed document attached to the submission platform. For more information, see: Disclosure of Financial and Non-Financial Relationships and Activities, and Conflicts of Interest.
Adoption of similarity checking software
The Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas uses the iThenticate tool to check the similarity of articles. This check occurs during the evaluation process, in the second stage of the ad hoc review. There is no acceptable percentage of similarity, with each case analyzed individually.
Articles derived from publications such as theses or dissertations are accepted and may be submitted; however, we understand that excellent research should generate different research products and not just fragmented reproductions (salami publications), with this modality considered unethical conduct.
Authors may be invited to rewrite and adjust the manuscript according to the similarity found.
Adoption of Software Use of Artificial Intelligence Resources
The journal does not currently accept the submission of manuscripts that have used Artificial Intelligence tools in the preparation of the text. The Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas is in the process of evaluating the possible incorporation of these resources into its editorial process.
Gender and Sex Issues
The editorial team of the Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas, along with the authors who publish in the journal, must always observe the guidelines on Sex and Gender Equity in Research (Sex and Gender Equity in Research – SAGER). The SAGER guidelines comprise a set of guidelines that guide the reporting of information on sex and gender in study design, data analysis, and the results and interpretation of findings. Additionally, the Revista de Educação PUC-Campinas observes the gender equity policy in the formation of its editorial board.
Ethics Committee
Research involving procedures with human beings must respect the ethical principles established by Resolution No. 466, of December 12, 2012, from the Ministry of Health, and the research must have been approved by the ethics committee of the institution responsible for it.
The document of approval declaration from the ethics committee will be requested in case of article approval. For the evaluation, it is necessary to provide the research registration number.
