This visual essay investigates recurring objects in the urban landscape using photographic appropriation as an allegorical tactic. The essay focuses on the surrealist marvellous and the picturesque, found in the abandonment, absurdity, and tactile textures of decaying urban equipment. Through imagetic mediation, the object is transformed into a liminal space – a place defined by ambiguity, impermanence, and estrangement.
