CRYPTOCOCCAL MENINGITIS AND SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS

The Systemic Lupus Erythematosus mortality has decreased in the last years for the early diagnosis and rigorous treatment with corticoids and immunosuppressors. These ones lead to an impairment of the immunity, leaving the patient more susceptible to the infectious agents that have, at present, an important role among the death causes in patients with lupus. The authors describe the case of a patient with lupus who died after cryptococcal Meningitis and repeated infections.
