Abstract

Efficient process management, aligned with strategic objectives and sustainability principles, is essential for
organizational success. In this context, organizational socialization plays a crucial role in integrating new employees into the company’s culture and values, promoting their adaptation, performance, and engagement with sustainable practices. In the basic sanitation sector, this process is particularly challenging due to high turnover, geographical dispersion, and specificities in the selection processes. This study aims to detail the improvement of organizational socialization in a company within this sector in Rio Grande do Norte, highlighting the importance of standards that support sustainable development. The descriptive qualitative research, through interviews, document analysis, participant observation, and the MASP method in five phases, revealed a lack of structure and standardization in the integration process. The root causes included personnel deficits, the de-prioritization by previous management, and the absence of internal regulations. In response, a sustainable action plan was proposed, including: an accessible institutional guide, presentations on organizational culture (both in-person and remote), technical visits to water treatment plants, and a checklist for managers to follow during the integration stages. The study contributes a model of organizational socialization that, in addition to promoting work quality and competitiveness, aligns with sustainability goals in the basic sanitation sector.
