Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the association between intelligence - evaluated with G36 test, Raven Progressive Matrices and the Bateria de Provas de Raciocínio - and personality - evaluated with the Inventário Fatorial da Personalidade. The sample was composed by 266 university student’s, being 77,8% females, aged 18 to 59 years old (M= 21,2). The Pearson’s correlations analyses showed values witch varies from 0,13 to 0,22. The factors performance, aggression and ostentation was positively correlated with G36, mechanical reasoning, and abstract reasoning (respectively). The factors intraception, caress, reference and order was negatively correlated with space reasoning, mechanical reasoning, abstract reasoning and space reasoning, respectively. The study found a weak and significant association between the intelligence and personality in adulthood.
