Abstract

The present study is based on the replies given by 600 male and female students aged 13 to 18 years to 75 typical behavioral samples in a situation of choosing of a profession. The 45,000 data thus obtained were treated by type-R factorial analysis and the main factor with iteration were extracted. We started from three initial matrices of three, five and seven hypothetical factors, respectively, with six terminal solutions, three of them with orthogonal rotationand three with oblíque rotation. Analysis of the results indicated that the terminal solution of five factors with orthogonal rotation provided more understandable factors. We retained four factors (which cumulatively accounted for 91% for the total variance of the data) whose interpretation revealed five variables which we judged to be related to the inner reactions of young people faced by conflict in a situation of choosing a profession.
