a importância da maquinaria de morte celular no controle e na patogênese das doenças

Resumo

Revisaram-se os principais eventos celulares e moleculares envolvidos na génese da morte celular programada. Foram descritos os principais genes e proteínas reguladoras (Ceds, Caspases, CPP32, Bcl-x, Bad, Bax, V-abl, APC, Apaf-l, Ich-l), bem como o papel dos principais fatores do crescimento (NGF, IGF), hormônios, interleucinas e agentes agressores (xenobióticos, metais, neurotransmissores excitotóxicos, radicais livres do oxigênio, etc.) sobre o desencadeamento dos programas de morte celular. As principais vias de estimulação ou inibição da apoptose foram relatadas. Diversas condições fisiopatológicas associadas ao aumento ou à diminuição das taxas teciduais de suicídio celular também foram descritas. O conhecimento das vias regulatórias da apoptose é fundamental para o controle e a prevenção de diversas doenças.
