Abstract

Tbe occurrence of peculiar electroencepbalographic patterns observed in begin childhoode partial epilepsies was studied in 413 cbildren, ranging in age from 3 to 15 years. The prevelance of centrotemporal spike was
significantly higher for epileptic patients with other
complaints (3,0%) . Fifteen patients bad begind childhood epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes (11,8% of cases with epilepsy). Three cases bad childbood epilepsy with occipital paroxysms. High-voltage euoked potenciaIs in the EEG were observed in four cases. Three of these cases baci epilepsy. This study shows that the cüagnostic of Benign Partial Epilepsies of Childhood may be done in a important proportion of patients with epilepsy and this has great value because of prognostic and therapeutic implications.
