Neural networks in the diagnosis and therapeutics of the arthropathies on the temporomandil)ular joint (TMJ)
Keywords:
neural networks, temporomandibular jointdiagnosis, joint diseases, medical informatics, computer-assisted diagnosisAbstract
The several theories used to define the etiotogy of the TMJ disfunctions cornprehend mechanical, muscular,
neuromuscular, psychological, psycophysiological, and other factors as trigger elements of the articular disfunctions. The great diversification of the symptoms, of the arthropathies, such as headache, otalgias, nape pain, hemi-face pain, subluxaíion, clickings, and many others, increase the difficulty degree to define the dia gnosis and the consequerú therapeutic
intervention in the disturbances. The rediscovery of the
neural networks in 80's, and new raise of the concept
ofassocia live memeory by witich the address of the information is its own content. That is, the way how the brain hotographycaily stores information, offered fo the research a fundamental support in Health area. With the development ofNeuronet, a binary system based in neural networks, with backpropagation, able to train the neural network, the percen lage of accuracy in the studies with patients, raised to 95% in comparison with the maximum of 70% obfained by the traditional statistics.
