Streptococci tonsillitis evaluation in chindren
Keywords:
pharyngitis, streptococcus pyogenes, antibioticotherapy, tonsillitisAbstract
The authors studied 51 children, with ages varying from 18 months to 13 years old, who presented clinical diagnosis of streptococci tonsillitis. They suggest that only the clinical symptoms and physical examination of the patient are insufficient to confirm the diagnosis of bacterial tonsillitis, what leads to equivocal diagnosis and inappropriate treatment.
