This article presents the results of the Knowing to Improve research, which constitutes one of the projects of the Institutional Assessment Program of the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, based on the responses of students completing the thirty-nine undergraduate courses offered by the University in the year 2000. Emphasis was given to the responses of the seventy-five medical course graduates who participated in the research, responding to the questionnaire prepared by the University's Institutional Assessment Committee together with the Local Committees of each of the undergraduate courses. The number of medical course graduates who responded to the questionnaire reached one of the highest percentage rates, compared to other courses at the University. The general analysis of the data shows that the course was evaluated satisfactorily, as several activities developed during the course were cited as highly positive, and should even be expanded or reinforced, although there are restrictions regarding some requirements necessary to improve the course, not yet made available by the University.
