Abstract

Objective

A study was carried out on individual chronobiological characteristics in university students (n=107) to classify them according to types, or chronotypes.
Methods
Data were collected in the classroom, using the Horne and Ostberg questionnaire. Subjects were asked to complete the questionnaire and return it immediately upon completion. Furthermore, the subjects' identification data were investigated, before classifying them according to chronotypes: morning (divided into extreme and moderate types), evening (divided into extreme and moderate types) and indifferent.
Results
The results showed a classification of 58% as "Indifferent", 21% as "Moderately Morning"; 18% for "Moderately Evening", 2% for "Definitely Morning" and 1% for "Definitely Evening".

Conclusion
It was concluded that the highest percentage belonged to the "Indifferent" chronotype, which is considered standard in the majority of the population; but there were no significant statistical correlations between the chronotypes and the individual characteristics under study.
