Abstract

This article reports the case of a patient, a 58-year-old woman, known to have had Chagas disease for 35 years, with Lutembacher syndrome, without presenting clinical and laboratory characteristics of interatrial communication of the ostium secundum type, or severe pulmonary hypertension. . It is observed that, despite so many reasons for cardiac decompensation, especially in the right chambers, the patient is clinically well, having remained hemodynamically stable for several years with the medication used, without showing signs of significant cardiac deterioration due to the concomitant illnesses. No report of the concomitance of these two clinical entities in the same patient was found in the literature.
