ANGIOMYOFIBROBLASTOMA OF THE VULVA
Keywords:

Angiomyofibroblastoma is a rare benign tumor most frequently located in the vulva and vagina, and it is immunoreactive for desmin, vimentin, estrogen receptors and C034. We report the case of a primigravida in the third gestational trimester, who presented with a painless polypoid vulvar /esion in the left labia majora, which was treated by C02 laser excision. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analysis diagnosed angiomyofibroblastoma of the vulva. Since it is common to misdiagnose angiomyofibroblastoma with other benign tumors and with the aggressive angiomyxoma, the differential diagnosis of vulvar neoplasms represents an important challenge and becomes essential for the establishment of the appropriate treatment for the specific entity
