THE IMPORTANCE OF ION CHANNELS FOR THE ACTION OF ADDICTING DRUGS
Keywords:
ion channels, drug addiction, mechanism of action, psychotropic drugsAbstract
This work presents a review on the mechanism of action at the molecular levei of the major psychotropic drugs that act through ionotropic receptors. The aim is to give concise and updated scientific information relevant to the work of professionals involved in the prevention of drug abuse and in the interdisciplinary and multimodal treatment of addiction.
