Abstract

Research is an important activity in undergraduate education in Information Science. The term
research is associated to the concept of complexity, as it is understood in the postmodern
scientific context. The nature of scholarly research, the undergraduate student’s research and the academic conditions to develop a research policy in undergraduate education are discussed.
