La Evaluación del Ciclo de Vida es una metodología que puede ser estratégica para lograr el concepto de ciudad sostenible, proporcionando una visión más amplia de los impactos ambientales y ayudando a la toma de decisiones para reducir estos impactos, mejorar la eficiencia de los recursos y mejorar el bienestar social. Este estudio realiza una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre el uso de esta metodología en cooperativas de reciclaje, centrándose en promover la economía circular y transformar los residuos en recursos valiosos. La evaluación del ciclo de vida permite una comprensión detallada de los flujos de materiales y energía, lo que permite identificar oportunidades para reducir los residuos y optimizar los procesos de reciclaje. Entre los estudios relacionados con las cooperativas de reciclaje, la metodología adopta varios enfoques, considerando su uso para promover la economía circular: gestión de residuos, costos asociados al reciclaje, impactos ambientales y clasificación de materiales. Finalmente, la economía circular, la evaluación del ciclo de vida y las cooperativas de reciclaje están interconectadas para promover prácticas más sostenibles y eficientes: juntas, ayudan a minimizar el impacto ambiental y crear sistemas más circulares y sostenibles.
