A bacia hidrográfica urbana do Tucunduba: impactos no uso e ocupação do solo em Belém, Pará

Abstract

The urbanization process in the city of Belém / PA is modified by several problems that show a lack of urban planning. Based on the historical analysis, which involves the use and occupation of the territory, it is possible to understand how the dynamics of population density has become a secular problem that affects the urban basin of Tucunduba. In this scenario, field research was carried out along the Tucunduba hydrographic basin with the application of objective questionnaires to the residents of the Montese neighborhood that is part of the basin. However, it does not authorize the analysis of the basin in its entirety. This paper aims to analyzing the forms of occupation, the segregation of the population around the basin, the vulnerability preset in some places and the mitigating actions for these places promoted by the government. The results induced that the forms of occupation, along the basin, gain new structures, especially in the middle and lower courses, where poverty is latent, altering and giving different morphologies to the channels. Residents are on the sidelines of actions that solve problems of a socio-environmental nature, such as the dumping of solid waste into the water body of Tucunduba. The actions of the local city hall directed to areas are not enough to solve these problems.
