Abstract

The aim of this paper is to consider different possibilities of analysis of the status of philosophical questions in relation to
their subject matter. Should they be considered external to the field they examine or as arising from this very field itself?
What are the boundaries between philosophical and nonphilosophical discourse, and how can philosophical discourse
be characterized in itself 7 The way these questions are dealt with in Carnap, Transcendental philosophy and ordinary
language philosophy is then briefly examined and discussed.
