A passage from The Little Prince, by AntoIne de Saint-Exupéry, is the starting point of a reflection that
is divided into three parts: at first, I was inspired by the phrase “The wind drags them”, meaning an
effort that sumrnarizes the reality that surrounds us; then, considering the phrase “They lack the roots”, Lanalyze the consequences of the winds of society and higher education; finally, the phrase “It bothers them
a lot", I point out the contributions of philosophy and theology to oppose those winds and the lack of roots to stimulate professors and students. These three parts are based on the laws and statements of the Magisterium ofthe Church that standard ize and regu late Catholic Universities, pa rticularlythe Second Vatican
Council, theApostolicConstitution Excorde Ecclesiae, andthe DecreeontheReform of Ecclesiastical Studies of
Philosophy, without ignoríng the Popes’ interventions.
