Abstract

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a promising Austrian musician, whose works have become a reference in music around the world, from his simplest pieces to great masses, operas and symphonies. This composer’s work was prolific and marked by aspects that were sometimes demonic and hedonistic, sometimes sacred and transcendental. In order to better understand his work, this study shows, based on studies of philosophy and theology, how the sacred and the profane are presented in Mozart’s work, as well as the influence of these aspects on the composition of his works in the last ten years of his life. To this end, the philosophical and theological studies of Søren Kiekergaard, Karl Barth and Hans Küng will be used as references for better theoretical elucidation.
